AYSO EXTRA is an AYSO pilot program started in 2010. EXTRA is a competitive soccer program designed to provide a more challenging level of play for those players who possess the appropriate interest, skills, and abilities to compete at a higher level. Player development is a primary focus of EXTRA. The number of teams a Region fields in EXTRA is limited so as to not negatively impact the regular fall program with respect to qualified coaches and trained referees.
Teams compete in a gaming circuit administered by AYSO Section 10, competing against teams from other Regions within the Section. Typically, teams play a 10-12 game fall season followed by a League Cup. Play is conducted on both Saturdays and some Sundays with teams playing about 50% of their games at their host Region. Most EXTRA teams transition into tournament teams after League Cup.

What do I bring to the tryout?
-Completed 2013 Extra Player Tryout Form
-Soccer practice gear (T-shirt, shorts, soccer socks)
-Shin guards (required) and soccer cleats (recommended)
-Water

-Non Fall 12 or Spring 13 players- $5 tryout fee to cover AYSO insurance

What is the cost?
While many Regions employ paid Trainers and charge $400-600, Region 68 has been one of the most successful EXTRA programs using highly qualified volunteer coaches. As a result, player fees for 2013 are as follows:
New and returning players fee $175
New player, additional cost for Jacket $50 (Optional)
