U5 Jamboree Program

To All Our Wonderful U5 Families,

As our season comes to a close – I want to thank all the parents, players and Field Coordinators for a wonderful U5 season.

Our end-of-the-year party is tomorrow, November 3, 2012 at 11:00am.  All three sessions will be coming together at the same time to enjoy some fun, food and recognition for the great season.  If your son or daughter wants to play during our party time, please have them come with uniforms on, shin guards and their ball.  For safety reasons, they must have proper equipment to play.

The region will be providing all the food and beverages for the party.

(Note to the 11:00am Saturday Session – I saw a list of people bringing additional items – since all three sessions will be together, I suggest that we stick to what the region is providing since I don’t think you were planning for all 250-300 people – my apologies for any confusion).

SPRING SEASON

For those players looking for additional soccer playing opportunities, I would like to suggest the AYSO Spring Season.  During the spring, the U5’s will be using the traditional ‘team’ format instead of the Jamboree format we used this Fall.  The cost is considerably less than the Fall Season and the season runs for eight weeks in March and April.  Please watch the region website at
www.aysor68.org for registration information.

REMINDER TO ALL FIELD COORDINATORS

A special ‘THANK YOU’ to all the Field Coordinators who helped out week after week teaching our young players.  We really appreciate your willingness to help out, learn and grow with the players.  I hope you had fun, learned a little about coaching and that you are looking forward to coming back as coaches for our U6 program next year.  Again, I can’t thank you enough.

Please make sure you pick up a training packet.  They have all the session plans from this year.  Most of the skills, drills and games are still appropriate for the U6 age group.

If you are looking for additional training ideas, you can simply ‘Google’ - ‘Youth Soccer Training’ and there are many resources available on the web.  Many of these resources are free.

Since all Field Coordinators are now considered ‘trained’ for the U6 age group, you will not need to attend the coach’s age-appropriate training if you plan to coach next year.  To ensure that you are covered for that requirement, please make sure that you sign the roster on the table at the party tomorrow.  I will pass this along to the region’s Coach Administrator to ensure that you get credit.  If by chance, there is some confusion next year, simply send an e-mail to the Coach Administrator to have him verify your participation this year, with me.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

We will be running the Jamboree format again next year for our incoming U5 players.  I will once again be the Division Coordinator for the program, but we are looking for 1-2 people who would be willing to help with the program.  We have taken a lot of input this year and have a lot of ideas to add to and improve the program, but it will take an extra person or two to bring these ideas to fruition.  If you are interested/willing, please contact me by e-mail or at the party tomorrow.

If the U5 program is not your ‘cup of tea’ but you are looking for additional ways to help our great region, please watch the website for upcoming board meetings.  Our region supports around 2,500 players each Fall with additional players in our EXTRA, Spring, Adult and VIP programs. There are many ways to get involved from coaching to refereeing to field setup to being on the board.  Camarillo Region 68 is one of only a handful of regions in AYSO that participates in every available program that AYSO offers.  In order to offer these great programs, we need GREAT VOLUNTEERS.

FINAL “THANK YOU”

Once again, let me thank all the parents who helped make this season a success.  I know that the U5 players have come a long way since the beginning of the season.  From watching the scrimmages to seeing the smiles on their faces during practice, many of our U5 players have enjoyed themselves and are well on their way to becoming great soccer players.

For The Beautiful Game,

Coach Dan
