This page is intended to keep all-star coaches up to date with news and events pertaining to secondary season all-star play. Postseason Play - Region 68 All Star Team Information

Player Commitment:        In the event of a team activity (practice, game, etc.) conflict, a player’s priority is to his (her) league team until that team is eliminated from Championship Play.  Failure to honor that priority will result in the player being removed from the All Star roster.

All Star Uniforms:  Price and availability TBD.

Uniforms will be distributed no later than two weeks before the first         weekend of play. 

Team Administration:  Coach/Assistant Coach names, phone numbers, and email addresses must be turned in to Area.  Coaches need to provide this information to Dave Howells (email: r68directordave@yahoo.com), by Wed, Nov. 25.  Team roster with uniform numbers must be turned in to Dave Howells within a week after you pick up your uniforms.

Parent Participation:  The parents of the Region 68 All-star teams will be required to participate in field painting on Friday afternoons and other duties assigned on Saturdays and Sundays.  The number of assignments per team is to be determined.

Player Replacement: All Star teams are required to have the following roster size:  U14 – 14 or 15 players, U12 – 12 players, U10 – 9 players.  If you should lose a player for any reason, contact your All-star Coordinator so a replacement player can be added immediately.  Replacement players must come from the list of All Star candidates.

Referees:  The Region 68 Referee Staff will be assigning referees to fill each team’s referee assignments.  If you have referees on your team who would like to referee Area play, contact the Referee Administrator, Gil Torres (e-mail: refereeadmin@aysor68.org). 

Lit Practice Fields:  Bob Dawson will be coordinating practice field assignments.

Coach Certification/Training:  Coaches/Asst. Coaches must have current AYSO Safe Haven certification.  U10 coaches must have taken the U10 Coach Course, U12 coaches must have taken the U12/Youth Coach Course, and U14 coaches must have taken the Intermediate Coach Course. All coaches must have taken P.C.A. training.

Area W Playoffs:

Coaches Meeting for Area W Playoffs:  Dec. 1  

Note: This meeting is required, and is being run by AYSO Area W, not AYSO Region 68.

Area Playoff Dates:  Jan. 16 - 17 (pool play – Camarillo)

Jan. 23 – 24 (quarter, semi & finals – Camarillo)

Jan. 30 – 31 (rain dates)

(*)  Teams will play 3 to 4 games over Saturday and Sunday for the 1st weekend of the playoffs.

(**)  Approximately half of the teams from the 1st weekend will go on to the 2nd weekend. You will play 1 to 3 games during Saturday and Sunday.

.“Warm-up” Tournaments:

All Star teams may elect to enter a tournament(s) prior to the beginning of Area playoffs.  For a list of tournaments, go to www.ayso.org. Click on events/ tournaments for an up to date listing of National approved tournaments.

All associated expenses (entry fee, referee deposit, etc.) are the team’s responsibility. Regional Commissioner/Acting Regional Commissioner approval is required before any Region 68 team is allowed to participate in any tournament. Team referees must be approved by the Region 68 Referee Administrator. Depending upon the dates/locations of tournaments, the Region 68 Referee Staff may be able to assist in fulfilling team referee requirements.

NOTE:  All Star team members who are also members of League teams still participating in Championship Play, may not be available for a tournament(s). All Star Coaches should check player availability with the applicable League team coaches before entering a tournament. Players must give first priority to their fall season league team. Second priority must be to their all-star team.  Any player not doing so will be removed from their teams and will not be permitted to play on a tournament team.
